"To whoever is reading this now, I would first like to say that writing this was never in my intention. I honestly don't know how Kevin has the patience for these. Sure, I've written up little notes on dragons my sisters and I have fought, but never fully in-depth. Then again, I've never actually gotten to know the ones I've fought either.'
"Well, I suppose I should start from the beginning. Kevin and I met Aurora on a mission in Iceland, the story of which I'll let Kevin tell. I hadn't been back there since I was just a little girl, and Kevin's never been, so in a way, it was coming back to our roots for both of us. I will admit, we may have spent a bit more time there than was really necessary, but I couldn't resist showing him around. I mean, would you? And to think that he's never had kjötsúpa before! I refuse to believe his mother didn't make it for him at least once! Well, if so, I'm happy to have corrected that mistake. And the lights...It's been too long since I last saw the Norðurljós in all their glory, and our mission couldn't have been at a better time to do so again.'
"It wasn't long before our presence began to draw the attention of the locals, in the form of three dragons who approached us one night when we were watching the lights. Teighenth said they were the Wemsk uk rers (yeah, like I'm going to be repeating that over and over), which Kevin translated to "wings of light", and indeed they were, glowing with all the colors of the Norðurljós. They must have sensed Teighenth through Kevin and had come to investigate, only to find two humans waiting for them much to their surprise. It took a bit of explaining from Kevin, and me casting down my weapons, to calm and reassure them that we meant no harm, but eventually, their curiosity won out over their wariness, and thus I was introduced to Aurora and her wingmates.'
"Aurora is a very spirited individual, to say the least. Like me, she's the youngest in her trio, but unlike me, she seems more in charge than the oldest among them! I would be surprised, but then age doesn't seem to be very important to dragons, seeing as they all live rather long anyways. (It certainly doesn't seem to make an impact on size!) Speaking of which, she stands about seventeen feet at her full posture, nowhere near as large as Teighenth, but she is still able to dwarf me, as I only just reach her chest. Her wings, however, are her defining trait, faceted with a multitude of under-scales in tints of blue and violet that are constantly changing and shimmering. They also happen to be her and the rest of her kind's primary weapon, for unlike most Aether dragons, they cannot spout breaths of lightning. Instead, they utilize their natural luminescence, controlling their glow so finely that they can dim themselves in order to disappear, or stun potential threats with a blinding flash. Perfect for making a quick getaway, as they don't seem well equipped to fight all that often."
Hahahahahaha yeah, this was an eventuality XD I can never stay away from drawing dragons for too long, I just love 'em too much ^-^; And I especially love this one! My first time ever attempting shiny wings <333 Also, if you haven't figured it out yet, this is Sigrid writing the info this time, more or less accepting that she's going to be interacting with dragons far more than what she's used to dealing with Sorry, Siggie!
Translations: Norðurljós = Northern Lights; kjötsúpa = lamb soup
