An amazing composition and quite original... most people would add more of the tree with its reflection on the water, but you chose to give just a hint of it and that makes it very interesting (at least for me)! Great colors too!

Part of the lack of tree was just the circumstance of the place - if I included much more on the right, you'd be able to see houses, which I didn't want in this image. I also had a camera with far less of a wide angle lens than my current one (I forget the specs) and I was standing on another dock, so I could only include so much in the first place. But, well, I suppose working with circumstance is a lot of photography?

The overall tone of the photo is exceptional. The fog giving a hint of the land beyond the dock makes the viewer to look harder at the photo to try and make out what is only partially there.

Pretty cool photo. It's interesting how the sky and the water are nearly as smooth as each other. Generally, i could see how someone might say that you wouldn't want to make the horizon line right in the middle but I think it works on this. Good stuff.
