That's a misconception in India. Yes, there are areas of poverty throughout, but the majority of 'poverty' you see in India is the coexistent of everyday society, much the same throughout the world. This is a wholesale area, most of these workers have families and homes they return to after a days work. The Bengalis are known for snoozing everywhere and anywhere when they get the chance.
