Description
you need Google SketchUp to view the models it's a fairly easy 3d program mostly used for architecture, it's free to download too.anyway, here are some rifle and pistol cartriges i made, i believe most of them are at exact dimensions down to the exact curve of the bullet and the ones that arn't are pretty close.
(from left to right in the preview)
1) 20mm M-50/PGU used in the M61 Vulcan autocanon
2).55 IGAM this is not a real cartridge it is part of the Robotic Uprising fictional universe created by myself and =Sanoon . It is the round used in the AM-CR55 Blackshell
3)14.5x114mm Soviet heavy MG and AM rifle cartridge, it's also the round used by the SRS 99D AM Sniper Rifle in the halo series of games
4).700 Nitro Express this is one hell of a cartridge [link]
5).50 BMG originally for the M2 machine gun but probably more recognized as used in the Barrett M82/107 Rifle
6)7.62x51mm NATO used in M14
7)7.62x39mm Soviet the round used in the AK-47
8)5.56x45mm NATO this is used in the M16/M4
9).50 Action Express the round of the Desert Eagle
10)5.7x28mm SS190 ball used in the P90
11).45 ACP used in the Thompson sub machine gun better known as the Tommy Gun
12)9x19mm Parabellum chambered by the Beretta M9
i know most of the people i know on DA will just be like "LOLWUT?"
EDIT: added 2 cartridges the .50 AE and the 14.5x114mm

very good. only one slight question is why do they look like they are leaning? its probably just me but it looks like they are leaning a slight curve to the right. other than that very good.

Very nice collection here, although it may be somewhat presumptuous to assume that there are no gun nuts on DA.
On a side note, you left out my favorite personal defense round (Below 00 Buck, but that can be overkill) the S&W .40. I don't know why it's my favorite, guess it's just those hardwired memories of my first gun, the p226. Oh, and where is the 30mm, can't leave that out. Savage may have said that the 20 kills you and everybody in the room but the 30mm just levels the god damn building.

As in the wise words of Adam Savage.
*holds up Parrebellum round* this kills you, *holds up 20mm round* this kills you, and everyone else in the room your in.

Yeah, I thought it was pretty cool to see a compilation of different types of ammunition. Especially the 14.5x114mm for the Soviet PTRS41 anti tank rifle. Very good drawing.

"This kills you (on the right), this kills you and everyone else in the room (on the left)." A very interesting line up. Awesome work.

i have a caseless SMG you should check out, it uses the same bullet as the p90. i think it's would be a good standard for marines and STs

uhm what about the .30-06 Springfield and .308 winchester bullets, I think those are slightly different from the 7.62x51mm NATO bullets
Anyways, nice job!! ^ ^

i know, but they're not enough different to make a whole other model. thanks for the suggestion though

I agree. the .308 is interchangeable with 7.62x51mm. While .30-06 is 7.62x63. It's a bit longer, but not really worth making a different model for. 7.92x57mm (8mm Mauser) or .303 Brit would be better candidates due to being contemporary rounds of equivalent power (within reason).
Overall, nice modeling

You should've modelled the 14.5mm AAA Machine gun round the Soviets used as an anti-tank rifle round as well. Would've been good for size comparison with the 12.7mm BMG

This has some information but note that the image they have there isn't to scale ... at least I don't think it is.
