You've got great midtones going on but here is where I would start to push it and do a few more passes (I got stuck there for a few years) - Go harder on the pencil and put some sharp dark strokes in places and bring out the detail .. around the eyes, right under the nose, beneath the lips ... a few strokes in the hair around the front .. you know what I'm getting at?
Are you sick of me? : D These are really good I jsut think you're a couple passes away from making them fantastic!

Whatchya think now? I moved her hairline up and had to reshade the entire thing. I added the darker lines to bring out the details. Her hair is still irritating the hell out of me but from her eyebrows down I really like!

Better better better!
Don't be afraid - even so, stop where you're comfortable then bring it into photoshop and experiment with a layer on top - that way you can't skrew it up. Or even scan it and print it out and then keep going on top of it ... that's what I did for a while because I was so afraid of pushing.

Woo! It's funny how human nature is like that. I see some tiny improvement and I don't want to try anything else because I might ruin it, but I might make it better too! Just have to concentrate on the positive. Any other suggestions or just keep going with the same thing?
I'm not all that great at photoshop yet, I wanted to work on the pencil stuff first. I'm not even sure that was the right move, but it felt like the right place to start. Plus I don't have a tablet yet and working with a mouse is really hard.

I think I know where you're going with this and I'm gonna give it a try. Thank you!
No, I'm not sick of you! I really appreciate the advice I think I'm just afraid of messing up so I tend to give up rather than keep going.

I realized in the process of doing something else today that her head isn't tall enough! Hopefully that will ease the nose problem up a bit. I'm fixing her up now, will upload the newer one when I'm done!

Wooo, that's much better! Amazing what about 2 cm of missing head can do. I'm much more pleased with this one now, yay!

I had to balance out the shading a little bit, I like the way I did it but my boyfriend said she looked like a burn victim so I humored him. There's a problem with her nose that I'm reall mad about because I can't seem to fix it so I'm just going to let it stay like this. Her face is supposed to be tilted and her eyes tilt and her mouth tilts but her nose just isn't tilting no matter what I do. So rather than erase the whole middle of her face and try to blend it back in I'm going to move on before I get mad at her! Anyway, I think my facial features are getting a bit better, I think that's the best nose I've done yet, pity that it didn't want to cooperate and move with the rest of the face
