That is the tragic story of Tieria and Lockon. Tieria was introduced to us as a cold, judgemental, sharp-tongued person, who didn't care about human lives. He didn't understand human relations and seems intensional in putting an uncrossable rift between himself and others. He was not human, but was engineered to connect directly to VEDA, the supercomputer. VEDA was his entired world. He takes VEDA's commands very seriously to complete his missions. He trusted no one else.
But all changed when VEDA abandoned him, denying his every attempt to connect. Tieria had lost his only companion, and suddenly so alone and insecure in the strange world.
But there was Lockon. Lockon protected him from the fatal assult when Tieria was rendered helpless within the immobile Gundam. In this process, Lockon lost his right eye which was very important to him being a sniper. Tieria was so shocked by Lockon's action, and for the first time, he felt such an strong emotion towards a human being! He was overcome with guilt, regret... then the deep desire to protect Lockon in return for his sacrifice for him.
Lockon, the 'mother hen' that protected Tieria when he was lost without VEDA; comforted him when he was stricken with guilt; supported him when Tieria defied mission order for the first time... there, Tieria smiled for the first time.
... ;_; why couldn't you have stayed till Tieria had grown all his feathers? ... your death left Tieria tumbling into the spiral of hatred and revenge... and in the end, he went to find you.
"I can finally go to where you are... Lockon."
Gundam 00 is really such a tear-jerker... are you really a shounen anime??!!

I was gutted when they killed off Niel Dilandy/Lockon. Lyle is just not him, though I did grow to like lyle in the end.
End of series 2 was just... how could they! Though Tieria got his wish of joining with Veda, I wanted him to go to Neil!

Same! That series is a tear-jerker ToT I did end up crying~~ but that's a few days after I finished watching season 1... I was thinking about Lockon and Tieria.. and just somehow ended up in tears o_O

I feel regret that I've laughed in Lockon's dead scene when the orange Haro calls "Lockon Lockon, Lockon Lockon...", It's sound similar to thai fruit "Longkong"

yeah.... I cried too... it's quite tragic... but at least it seems they both are together now.... OR there's always Lockon's Bro ... altough it won't be the same EVER ... T__T poor Tieria

and about it being a Shounen anime I'm not sure (there are plenty of Het Couples) LockTie was a big surprise for me since it IS the first time they have shown some Shounen-ai potential in a Gundam Series not even the stupid relationship between Kira and Athrun from Seed compares to that (not tha I'm complaining ^^)... but it was not the last there's Bily/Graham too and since the last episode Graham/Setsuna too (you had to laugh when Graham said that he was in love with Stesuna LOL that was like WTF? weren't you with Billy?)

I've seen Graham x Setsuna coming for a long time now XD ...Graham's first words to Setsuna were really suss too..."I want to seduce the Gundam" "it's love at first sight" XDDDDD I heard about what he said at the last episode... and I so in screen caps that poor Setsuna was so shocked and scarred for life 
Can't wait to watch rest of the series >w< Can't wait for the 2nd season! I hope Tieria do come back in the next season... but... maybe Regene will develop something interesting with Lyle XD
