I cannot even begin to explain how much I adore Bruce Timm's Justice League. Hnn~ It is perfection from start to finish; one of my absolute favorite cartoons and one of the best cartoons ever to grace the airwaves~
So here's J'onn, the saddest of the Hot Dads. (If you're familiar with the character then you'll know why J'onn is so darn tragic.) Martian Manhunter was very quickly one of my favorite characters of the League (come to think of it I don't think there was a character I didn't like on that show). He's so gosh-darn cool. And so tragic.
I haven't drawn a superhero in quite a while--and a really long time since I've drawn a male superhero. This one was just fun to do!

Martian Manhunter had a guest appearance in Anderson's epic LAST DAYS OF KRYPTON. JoR-el receives a transmission apparently from long ago and far away, from Jonn Jonz ,last survivor of Mars. No more is made of this lone Martian, and whether he would figure in whatever JLA forms in Kal-El's future, is up to Anderson. What happened to Jonn Jonz's people is unknown, but Mars shows as an uninhabited world of dust, exhausted air...

He teamed up with BatMan in an animated 2-parter, where genocidal robot aliens destroying world after world and annexing their technology, pillaged & plundered Wayne enterprises for his.
BatMan may not have any super-powers, but, driven by revenge for the murder of his parents , he has developed weaponry and devices.....

DC's contempt for this character shows in their constantly changing him. And he has never been given his own comic, just back-up stories in DETECTIVE, HOUSE OF MYSTERY, ....
