Description Colored illustration for the "A Daily Dose of Insanity" book cover.

Covers are challenging but incredibly fun to do! You have to make sure to leave "inactive space" for text and titles, while still trying to make it attractive to new readers.

Update (6/3/14): The cover was looking a tad too dark and too high contrast to me, so I went back in and added color holds to lighten up the image a little.

This is really good and amazing. I love the colors and lighting. I also love that it's a very happy looking piece with the characters relaxing and enjoying themselves. Well done.

Ah the finished article! It's wonderful and the colours really stand out in this one. A good mixture of cel and gradient shading to establish the lighting in the scene. I also liked seeing the processes - the blue pencil and inking.

Yup. In all it's colored glory! I'll eventually post the art progression so that people can see all the steps together. Overall, a very fun piece to produce.

Thanks Urvy! I'm glad you think the colors look good. I always consider coloring to be my weakest point in illustration (since I do black and white cartoon strips chiefly). So coloring just takes me forever to do.

As for group stuff... not exactly sure yet. We'll probably have to take suggestions and put it to a vote.
