Description
A "realistic" render of a 1:5 scale Nintendo Famicom I created in Solidworks to be 3d printed in six pieces, assembled, and painted.

The model is designed with consideration for the specific tolerances of 3d printing, being hollow to save on material costs with a 1mm thick shell. All details of the original system are included on the model as well, including screw holes, ports, seams and recesses. The wires are part of the model and can be 3d printed along with the rest of the system, but they are separate from the parts they connect with, in order to allow for substitution of an actual gauge wire to scale with the thickness of the holes into which they fit. Special attention also went into representing the text as .2mm extrusions from the surface to afford the ability to paint them with relative ease. Accuracy is within .5mm.
