Description
A "realistic" render of a 1:5 scale Nintendo Game Boy Advance SP I created in Solidworks to be 3d printed in four pieces, assembled, and painted. The model is designed with consideration for the specific tolerances of 3d printing, being hollow to save on material costs with a 1mm thick shell. All details of the original system are included on the model as well, including screw holes, ports, seams and recesses. In addition, the screen is modeled as a separate piece so an image of any game can be printed and applied to it before assembly . The flip screen is also modeled separately and has a specially designed hing that snaps into place while leaving a tiny bit of space between the exposed edges. Special attention also went into representing the text as .2mm extrusions from the surface to afford the ability to paint them with relative ease. Accuracy is within .5mm.

How the f*yay*k did you get Chrono Trigger on GBA? Were there plans for Chrono Trigger to come to GBA that got scrapped?

Thank you! It's a shame I can't afford to get them all printed in the detailed plastic but they turn out pretty good in the less expensive one!
