Description
A "realistic" render of a 1:5 scale Super Nintendo Entertainment System I created in Solidworks to be 3d printed in three pieces, assembled, and painted. The model is designed with consideration for the specific tolerances of 3d printing, being hollow to save on material costs with a 1mm thick shell. All details of the original system are included on the model as well, including screw holes, ports, seams and recesses. Special attention also went into representing the text as .2mm extrusions from the surface to afford the ability to paint them with relative ease. Accuracy is within .5mm.

That's really neat. Did you paint it, or is each color printed out of a different piece?

I haven't gotten the actual 3d print for this one yet, this is just the 3d render of the CAD model with colors to represent where the paint will go on each.

Believe me, I thought about it haha. I think it would work at 1:2 scale by implementing components of the Supaboy but that's for another time.
