What's trace bitmapping? Vectoring is tracing is it not? Not saying you do, I'm just curious. Love your work.

I love this, I thought I had commented but I obviously didn't. I happened to bang into your stuff again and realised you're a kiwi Awesome work chick! Would love to ask you a few questions relating to your study at D&A one day as I've been looking at going somewhere else.

Sarah, I too am trying to learn how to make vectors work, and one of the things I have the most trouble with is shading and tones... it's driving me looney! *sigh* But, I wanted to say thanks ("Thanks!") for making this and putting it up... it's probably going to help me in the long run... if not, I'll just keep pulling my hair out!

This is really great. Are there specifics as to why Macromedia over Illustrator? just outta curiosity.

Its tough to defend when you have people out there using the filters and trace bitmaps claiming it as a vector.

Well I can't say anything about trace bitmapping because I have been unable to gauge what it implies and if it is something which should have an inherently negative corollary attached to it or not, nice tutorial though...........

I don't think it was too helpful for me - sorry - coz i'm too lame at outlining. I guess i need a tutorial on outlining Still! it is a good one, now i can see it doesn't take God to make illustrations.
You say you use Freehand. You like it? What can you say about illustrator?

This is going to be real helpful to me......... I have tried doing similar things myself.... but my images turn out too weird... check out my gallery --- very very amateurish!

I've never used Freehand. Infact, I have no idea what trace-bitmaping is. But, I do use Photoshop - no tricks or anything, I'm just way too used to the polygonal lasso tool (and layers, lots and lots of layers). But your tutorial makes me want to try out Freehand, it gives it a cool look, and looks like it takes less than three days (maybe I'm too tedious?). Nice work.

This is really cool and helpful, esp. for a person like myself who knows abso-friggin-lutely nothing about vectorzing! Im gonna start doing some soon, like in 2 weeks or so in class, so I hope I can be up to the caliber that VBU and so on and so forth are up to! !

Auto tracing are notouriously shit, you need about 30 seconds worth of experience to work that out.
Top job. I'd do the thumbs up icon if I knew the line for it. But I don't and I'm not about to go look!
