Charlie was born to a young single mother, his father completely out of the picture. Growing up was difficult at times, especially being raised primarily by his grandparents. Charlie's mother was young, and still wanted a life---furthermore, she had no clue how to raise a child. And so, Charlie grew up among bingo meetings and war veterans, making for many a boring night. However, the young fire-boy completely treasured the nights where his mother would come and visit. Her stories of adventure were inspiring to him---so inspiring, in fact, that they lead him to run away at age sixteen. He had plans for the ice kingdom, though he soon realized it was far too cold for him. Deciding that the mountain kingdom was just as good for hiding, as well as quite a bit warmer, he took up residence in an old log cabin. The colder climate soon got to him, though, and Charlie's flame shrunk and shrunk--leaving him with his now more subdued and coal-like appearance. He doesn't mind it so much, though. Easier to get to know people like this, anyhow.
