Description Illustrated by the great and talented Sheather888.

The animal you see before you is not, in actuality, some strange kind of Stegosaur but a Sauropod, specifically the genus Cernaysaurus robustus. Dwelling in the tropical forests of Late Paleocene/Early Eocene Cernay, France, the remains of this unusual 17m long giant were discovered by French paleontologist Pierre Longchamp in the 2070's. Described on the basis of several disarticulated neck vertebrae, ribs, a partial skull, the front left humerus and numerous large, spiky osteoderms, Longchamp proposed that Cernaysaurus was either a close relative, or descendant of, Ampelosaurus from Late Cretaceous France. Fully grown adults were likely immune from predation, but juveniles would have to be on the lookout for the 7m Abelisaur Beauvaisaurus.

I thought this was a struthiosaurine the first time I saw it. It seems now its just a sauropod. Great work, nevertheless.
