Description
Alternate title: Don't eff with SheldonSeriously, the dude builds weapons for a living and I've no doubt that he knows how to use every single one of them. I imagine if anything that his preferred weapon would be the bamboozler considering that his grandfather used one when he was fighting in the Great Turf War, but a very precise or long-range weapon (e.g. regular charger, splattling) wouldn't work well with someone who is near-sighted. Instead, I imagine that he would excel in using chargers build with a scope which would allow him to compensate for his terrible eye sight.
Also: Sheldon knows how to drive a flying truck which is pretty cool. Here he is using it to his advantage to splat people from far away.
(Yes I know that there's a built-in stage on top of the truck but I'm too lazy to draw it)
Learning and drawing something really does make you appreciate it more. I've found out that Sheldon is actually a pretty neat character, that the E-Liter 4k Scope is a pretty awesome-looking weapon, and that horseshoe crabs aren't crabs at all but closely related to spiders.
Speaking of horseshoe crabs... I've incorporated some of those traits into the artwork such as compound eyes, ocellus on the shell, and the bluish ink to resemble the blue colour of horseshoe crab blood (but its much less green irl)
There isn't a lot of art of this adorable buck-toothed arthropod. I thought it wouldn't be a bad idea to try and draw him.

When I first saw this it was quite late and I had trouble sleeping, with way too much melatonin in the blood and thinking in unbridled purple prose - so the one spontaneous impression was what a magnificent beast!
I stand by that. If there are more immediately striking depictions of anthropomorphic horseshoe crabs elsewhere, they must be few and far between.
Have not played very much Splatoon so not familiar with the character, but getting curious now. Wonder if the buckteeth reference how horseshoe crabs are related to spiders, with how spiders have the tusk-like mandibles above and in front of the mouth? Love the compound shades with the glittery mix of hues; if they are not already a Nintendo accessory they should be.
Well done, and thanks for the mention. Glad to hear my habit of looking guns asunder came of use -.o

Compound eyes are not part of his original design. Interesting what you said about the buck teeth though, I didn't think much of them besides that they look cute and derpy.
Sheldon is actually a rather under appreciated character of the franchise despite having an important role in the second game. I personally think he's quite an interesting character and hope to draw him again sometime.
If I am to be honest, by the time I saw your comment on my status update I had already drawn most of the gun. I still read and considered it and decided that I should probably thank you anyways. I may keep what you've said in mind whenever I draw firearms again.

Does a horseshoe crab have compound eyes? I never noticed.

Horseshoe crabs do have compound eyes. You have to look at specific photos of their eyes to notice it.
