this is wrong surely.... has no-one noticed?the left-hand side is nothing like helms deep in the film: the circular front wall continues till it reaches the tower, and there is no ramp/wall from the tower leading to the battlement tower... if this is just a hommage... ignore the comment!
...but if its supposed to be faithful to the film: it isn't*.
best wishes, Peter.

no your right, it's not accurate to the film. I built this when I was 14 and spend a year & a bit on it so at that point I wasn't really paying attention. Thanks for pointing it out though I'm now doing an architectural modelmaking course so I tend to do things to scale and have accurate measurements.

Thank you for your informative reply... and for taking my comment as intended: a critique, yes.. but not intended as an insult... I hope your course is going well, and that you're having fun!
Best wishes!
Peter.

Fantastic indeed. Just wondering...how heavy is it? Did you model with clay?

The model is quite heavy due to the mountain, but can be carried by one person (a bit awkward however). The whole fortress is built out of foamboard apart from the door which is balsa wood. The mountain is largely expanding foam, newspapers and a coat of textured paint.

I agree with the others. I only watched the movies, but the battle scene there was awesome.

My favorite is Two Towers and the clashes between Legolas and Gimli.

ehe yes that adds some comedy to the film. I loved the Helm's Deep scene, however I must admit I prefer Gondor.. so the next project is to build Minas Tirith someday
