Description Here’s to not being ashamed of your family life, your religion, your heritage, your past, your race, your sexual orientation, your sexual identity, your anything.

Here’s to showing your true colors, in any way that you can— small or not so small, loud or not so loud.

This is for every single one of you out there: have heart, keep your chin up and embrace yourself, ‘cause this is the only ‘you’ you’ll ever have.
____________

Step one: Make Plaster of Paris bandage cast of my best friend's chest. *snuzzles to * Sorry 'bout your belly button fuzzies, love. ^_~
Step two: Cut and smooth edges of plaster cast.
Step three: Spraypaint back of cast black.
Step four: Buy six packages white feathers, six packages colored feathers, one yard black furry cloth, two containers tacky glue.
Step five: Cover chest plate in white feathers.
Step six: Lose mind while trying to pick out the perfect colored feathers out of six bags.
Step seven: Line them up at least twelve times until satisfied.
Step eight: Measure and cut cloth, swear a blue streak because it's crooked, measure and cut another set.
Step nine: Glue down feathers and cloth.
Step ten: Trim white feathers.
Step eleven: Get it to school without having a heartattack.
Step twelve: Enter 3d-Design contest.
Step thirteen: Have piece displayed at the Pumphouse, in LaCrosse.

I had a lot of fun with this, and almost killed a couple people for the damage it sustained coming back from the Pumphouse... but, all in all, no one lost their lives. My best friend lost some body hair. He had it the worst, I think, 'cause they were those itty-bitty ones, and... yeah. I didnt put enough vaseline on his chest, I guess.

This piece of art is now in the possesion of !

Can't completely tell that it's someone's chest, but t'is amazing nontheless. The feathers are great. Make it look more human, oddly.

Can it be the pretty one's chest? Yes? Good, for I have just decreed it so.

Close your eyes and imagine shy, short fur; delicate, whispery feathers under your hands, then the confident, slightly stiff line of colored feathers in the middle.

Thats how I describe it to everyone. ^_~

I wish I could have you touch it; its supposed to be sensory art, as well as visual, but, alas-- that is very impossible.

Anyway, close your eyes and imagine confident, short fur; delicate, whispery feathers under your hands, then the confident, slightly stiff line of colored feathers in the middle.

I can picture the sensations quite well. But be sure, I'll touch it one day for real !

Well, one woman offerent me seventy five dollars, and when I went to explain that I didnt want to sell it, she said 100, then I tried to explain and again and she interrupted me with 150, and I finally said, "Not for sale, sorry!" and walked away.

DRWick In reply to biskui [2006-06-21 18:04:45 +0000 UTC]

*laughs* Yeah, I know, but I doubt I would have the heart to make another one.

I really love my art; rarely give it away, you know? Even if I would like to have money.

I got home that night and did think about it for a bit, banging my head on my bed side table, but I got over it.
