I'd use the brush tool instead, with a higher saturation and lower darkness (and possibly a small shift to the red); that way you can do it on another layer and it's easier to fix mistakes.
(The end result looks good though )

Good idea (: It may give it a better look on the outcome since the burn/dodge tool may ruin the quality of the colours at times~
