I get the impression Otto is not looking at himself but up, towards his hair. Could it be he's a creature of deeply ingrained habits and his subconscious self is rebelling against his conscious "orderly" self? Whatever it is, Panel 6 shows us he is definitely upset about something. Only time will tell.
