also I know this is of topic of the page but if the south was able to secede peacefully, then was the issue in this alternate not slavery?

There was always far more going on between the north and south than slavery, actually.

I know, I know the south seceded for economic and maybe even cultural reasons as well and that really slavery only became the issue because the north needed a reason to fight and care (excuse me if i get my facts wrong)
I ask because that was one of America's great injustices and was wondering if it still existed in this alternate universe or if Jupiters existence effected that as well? I haven't seen so far any signs of racial prejudice though I might have missed somethingΒ

Well, I don't mind answering that!: Slavery is long gone in this universe as well. Probably not because of Jupiter, but because of regular advances in technology that lead to less need for laborers... and of course people becoming better people. XD
