That first panel pretty much explains what happened to Otto's mom.Otto's still a little neurotic even though he's had help. Makes one wonder what he was like at the height of his issues.
Oh! And it may seem like I'm inserting an anti-TV message here, but I'm not. These are just Otto's issues.
I watch plenty of violent TV believe you me.

Does he have PTSD? It seems like it and violence is a trigger for him, which causes panic attacks. At least he's gotten better than he used to be. It's kind of like Tony Stark in Iron Man 3 where certain things were triggers because they were related to going throughΒ the wormhole in New YorkΒ that would cause panic attacks.
