Description
Now we know why Jupes has a soft spot for kidz as his lady receptionist mentioned .You might recognize some of those little guys following Jupiter in that third panel from his bumpers. It's fun to tie in little things like that.

Love that lineup of his fans throughout the years, behind Otto.

It has just accrued to me. If Jupiter has a step daughter.....DOES THAT MEAN HE HAS STEP GRAND CHILDREN?! XD

Could be! Unless Mathilda died before adulthood - not uncommon back then.

That'd be the in-side, right? Otherwise he'd have trouble taking bullets!

Really love the composition of this page--and I like the little crowd of people following Jupiter! At first I thought it was just a crowd from that time period, but then I noticed the different outfits... Nice!
Aaa I'm really liking this bit of backstory we're seeing!

Psst: "widower" refers to a man. She's a "widow"

In my experience, referring to a person as "having baggage" refers to emotions and history, not anything physical. Of course, it is a very flexible phrase that can refer lots of things, but that's always how I've interpreted it. So when Otto said it here, my first impression was that he's referring to her history, and the emotional "baggage" she undoubtedly carries--she's complicated. Has nothing to do with having a kid per se.
So, it'll be up to Jupiter to take some of her bags for her.

Scoring points early on by carrying her bags.

Awww....
Tsk, Otto.Β We all have baggage.Β Maybe not in the way you mean here, but...You have baggage too.
XP
Uh....isn't a widower just a male widow?Β So in this case she would just be a widow.

Jupiter, Jupiter, Jupiter me thinks ye be smitten by the Faire Lady Barbara! Β Can't say as I blame him, either, in just the few short moments we've known her she impresses me as quite the charmer.
I've only heard the term "baggage" used once, and that was in a movie. Β It wasn't referring to a woman with kids it was some pretty heavy mental issues one character was having. Β Hmm, I must come out from under my rock more often.

Hm. It was interesting to hear Otto say that. I wonder if it's to do with past experiences?
Loving the Barbara arc so far. Interesting that Jupiter would have to adjust to suit her life, not vice versa. Nice
