OK, another Gaara pic. I'm not sure why I keep drawing him...This was inspired by a pic from the Marvel website.

This took a couple of days on and off to do. Completely digital. First time I tried sand like that too, so some bits are fairly sloppy. Well, hope you like it.

Finally posted the new version of this. I added more detail to the shirt, changed the eyes a little, attempted to fix the kanji, decreased the title point size and improved the colour (I think) So, it should look much nicer now. After fixing the calibration on my monitor, I discovered how washed out the original looked, so I hope this is an improvement.

Yeah, I can't help doing the eyes large now. It's become natural for me since I've become too embedded in drawing anime. Probably not really a good thing. Caused me a lot of trouble doing portraits last year. They all looked like aliens

but im gonna start buying the dvds soon and it shouldnt be too long before i have 1000000 fanarts in meh stupid gallery

oh it aint that bad! the ones that im gonna get are in box sets of about 4 or 5 DVDs and theres about 20
eps in each box set thingy and theres 8 of them i think, so thats $60 AUST so yeah around $480
ok......i guess that is quite a bit 0_o, but im gonna get em anyway!! then ill be all like
' im a naruto nerd with no money' 
and all the stupid kids will have to get the cheap dub version,..........which ill probly have to get to

yeah, true. Buying the DVD's would cost a fortune. It's up to episode 120 something in Japan now. Maybe 128.
Avg. 5 episodes per DVD = expensive ...I can't do maths anymore

O_o ack, that's no good. In my opinion when/if a English translated one comes out.. it's gonna be crap :S (like it won't be as funny, and the translators may 'modify' the script). That would suck if it can no longer be downloaded, that's how my oldest brother got his episodes (which I watch).. argh, damn them for becoming licensed! >_<

haha yeah. I was just watching the director commentary for FLCL, and I think he put it best: In english, the characters lose their essence. Not word for word, but it was something like that. No doubt they'll modify the script... which is a pain.

sorry to edge in on your convo, but i must say the english naruto dub is really bad. i mean alot of the time it seems like the charactures are just saying stupid stuuf to fill in the space. and they totally lose their 'essence'. for instance, Shikamaru doesn't even say troublesome, he just says 'what a drag' and stuff like that. i mean come on! troublesome is like his catch-phrase, it's one of the things that hint what a genious he actually is. even the voices themselves are annoying and some of the voice actors sound dead. like thier isn't any emotion at all. *curls up in fetal position rocking back and forth* english...dub...so...bad.

And yeah, Gai Sensei versus Kakashi in rock paper scissors would be hilarious, in my opinion though cool battles come from Rock Lee O_o (even though you don't see him fight very often, but the Drunken Fist battle is awesome).

I don't think Gaara is my fave character. He just always seems to have better battles, and it's easier to come up with ideas for him. I've got one of Sasuke in the works.
I might even make a whole lot of funny chibi ones into a wallpaper or something.

Wow very nice x3 The detail is astounding and your CG skills have really just kept improving x3 The hair is great and the face, i love the wrinkles on his nose and his eyes x3 The only real irk i have is his shirt, it looks a lil lifeless in comparison to the hair and the sand whipping around him.

thanks! yeah, I wasn't satisfied with the shirt either. I wanted something simple, instead of his regular outift. The shirt was the very last thing I did, and with the lighting I chose, it was pretty hard to come up with something good. Anyway, thanks for commenting!

That's one good lookin Gaara. I love the skin tones you've used, and you used a different technique for his eyes... Instead of just making the lineart thicker, it's actually in shadow. I like it =3 His hair and the sand are also really good.

I think ppl on the forums feel that all u do is post your art without joining in the culture of the forum: not too many ppl in the club are exclusively arty. You'd get a better response if you joined in a bit more yourself
