My entry to the Wabcom Dreams contest. I want to explain some things going on in the picture and the significance. Whatever is standing behind me is the older drawings that started out early in life (1st grade to 8th), it represents what has built me up and what I am leaving behind. What are on the sides are my current Original Characters, which are showing support for me and are somewhat sad, because they know that soon I will move on from them. Also, as much as I wanted to color all of this, I knew that to do it well, and not half-assed would take up time I do not have. With this piece, I admit there are a decent amount of flaws, things that didn't come out right during inking and when taking the picture of this picture.

As I was drawing this, I nearly cried, remembering back to more simple and fun times, where imagination was limitless and never questioned, but as I've grown, I've become aware of the constraints around me, ironically also learning to express myself more effectively...but I have not reached my goal in artistic beauty, nor are the chances of success great. When I was younger, I was swept strongly by the images created my anime and felt there was something higher, beyond me (not really religiously or anything). Since then I have been trying to release that in the form of something tangible.....but it's easier said than done. I realize I do not have the skill, nor the experience to illustrate my thoughts, but as long as I can draw, I will always keep striving.
