EDIT: So, I actually came across this video that considers the themes about Gurren Lagann as a whole, but the reviewer also considers an angle about Yoko's design I thought was pretty interesting and worth sharing. Was thinking about Yoko from Gurren Lagann last night while I was thinking about how to make my own characters look like young teens and got surprisingly annoyed when I remembered Yoko's supposedly the same age as Simon (14-years-old). If that's the case, not only would most people never be able to guess that, but she's portrayed pretty sexually in the show and that made me cringe retrospectively. So, I tweaked her design a bit in ways I think would help her better read as 14-years-old with some notes alongside.

I don't have a problem with your redesign or the original design it's just imagining Kamina kissing a auctlly 14 year it's kinda weird.

Naw, I definitely get you in regards to a lack of presence of dA - a lot of life and other stuff just became much more relevant for several years and the community felt like it was in a slump. Honestly I wasn't sure I would ever really update my page again but here I am! At the very least, if we're still making art then I think we're still good, even if we aren't posting itΒ
