This is what i was looking for thanks!

btw how do you do the half circle?

dubird In reply to melofiro [2006-08-31 00:26:31 +0000 UTC]

There's an ellipse tool third from the bottom of the vertical tool bar. Make sure it's set to the oval, not the circle. Click and hold your mouse in one corner and drag it to the other. You can move the mouse up and down to make the oval as low as you want. Just make sure it's on a new layer so you can adjust it if you need to. ^_^

very nice turorial, even though I am not a stranger to small artwork in PSP, it's a great tutorial for the beginner.

your tutorial is very helpful but I have one question. how do i fill in my pattern?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

dubird In reply to xstation14 [2006-08-17 15:51:13 +0000 UTC]

Use your fill bucket. Once you choose that, in your color pallet choose gradiant and pick or make the one you want. Then, just click in that layer.

Aah! So it's the lower end of a white circle and lowered opacity? Sensible & wise!
Thank you!

Hi. I think this is a great tutorial !! Thank you very much, just one question if I may. I am using PSP 9 and have followed the first detailed instruction. I am stuck now however at the part where you say to "make a new layer for your gradient". The options I have for new layers does not include a "make new gradient" layer. Just Rastor and vector. I have used PSP for many years and have never used this option. Perhaps you could lead me into how to make such a layer?

Thank you so much ahead of time

John

Wonderful guide. ^^ Love it <3. Just a small question, how do you adjust the sizing of the pattern?

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

dubird In reply to RaineArashi [2006-05-24 01:10:38 +0000 UTC]

When you choose the pattern, you can adjust the percent size. Standard is 100% (in PSP9, click in the pattern to bring up the material properties box...the Scale chooser is to the right of the pattern chooser) Just adjust it until it's the size you want.

CrazyCraps In reply to ??? [2006-03-26 05:44:29 +0000 UTC]

Thanks! But how do I select the text? O.o

👍: 0 ⏩: 1

dubird In reply to CrazyCraps [2006-04-05 02:21:40 +0000 UTC]

1 - Make sure your active layer is the one with the text on it.
2 - Choose your magic wand tool, and select the text. This really only works when your text has no anti-alising. But then, the fonts people normally use for userbars doesn't have anti-alising anyways.

That help any?
