Description the pole is 6 feet long and the blades 2 feet long and wide 2 3/4" wide. this atgeir has a butt spike on one end, its for balance the weapon, so that it easyer to wield. the other end is the blade was use stabing or slashing


One battle a viking warrior name Thorolf loses his temper, takes his atgeir in both hands, and starts cutting down the enemy. He fights his way to the standard, cuts down the standard bearer, cuts the standard pole in half, then stabs the Earl through his body. He then lifts him up by the blade and jams the staff into the ground so that the Earl dies for all to see

It certainly looks nice in the pictures . What is the haft made from ? What is the blade made from and how did you shape it ? I don't suppose it was made by weaving high carbon steel wire with low carbon wire then forging it ?Is Huginn on one side and Muninn on the other side ? Lovely work .

one day I do want to start bladesmithing as hobby. But as rigth now I have no tools or traning. One of the frist thing I am going try to make is an atgeir.

Start small , do reseach and don't worry if you make mistakes . If you're not screwing stuff up you're not doing anything .As you get better the screw ups just get farther a part .

its a raven for the the raven-god odin. Odin is known as the raven-god, because keep two of them as pet
