Very little license has been taken with the scene. Some parts of the Dihoxulator are never seen in the comic (and probably never will be) so I fleshed it out as best I could. Very rewarding to work from such a technically excellent source. Phil Foglio maintains consistency between vastly differing views, which made it much easier to model the lab. I hope you enjoy it, and take a look at the comic!

Thanks! It was a fun project. I'll have to do some more Girl Genius stuff at some point... Is there another internally-consistent set-piece location you'd like to see 3D-ified?

I love this, this is so cool both as a fan of the comic and the fact I went to college for 3D animation.
What program did you use? 3ds Max? Maya?

Nice, I just started to learn Blender recently. Same reason you did, no money for the bigger ones.
I have 3ds Max through my college, but I only get a 3 year student licence with it, so even then I still can't sell anything I make should I ever chose to do that.

I really like the feel of this picture, it's very open, but crowded at the same time where it has the feel of a lab
