"Thank you so much again for letting me bombard you with questions like that- I promise it won't happen again!" Twilight gushed, as the pair made their way to the castle wall. It had been a productive day- she was able to get trough the first two full pages of questions she had about Starswirl written down on a parchment note. Of course, there were more, and while Twilight could have kept at it all day if need be, she decided to give her conversation partner a break. Scorpan had graciously answered every single question and spent what must have been hours telling her everything he could about the great wizard. He let out a chuckle as he leaned against the wall, Twilight settling next to him shyly.

"Forgive me for saying this, Princess Twilight, but I don't think that's true- I saw the pages of questions you've been hiding. Don't worry, there's still so much I can tell you about Starswirl" Scorpan teased lightly, paying Twilight a knowing look as she flushed a little at the comment and being found out. She cleared her throat as he continued.

"Besides, it's nice to reminisce- I don't think I've talked this much about something so passionately in a long time. It's nice to be around friendly folk after wandering around desolate places for a while." Scorpan's gaze wandered to the expanse of land beyond the castle wall. Lush valleys were before them, train tracks grazing though the green here and there. It was peaceful. Scorpan drew in a breath, craving to take some of that peace for himself.

Twilight eyed him pensively, letting his words sink in. She knew vaguely of his past and his travels since he departed Equestria, and considered carefully how he must have lived his life since then, on the road, going from one land to the next. Her gaze softened as Scorpan continued to look out before them. She was caught up in her thoughts when Scorpan turned his head to stare at her. Hoping she hadn't looked too silly (and hoping he hadn't noticed her too-fond expression), Twilight blushed once again and grinned nervously.

"You're wonderful company, Twilight Sparkle, after so many years of traveling alone. Well, the day's still young, so how about we go through the remaining questions on that list of yours and then I do some questioning, hm? The realm has changed since I saw it last- I think I'd like to know what's happened since then," Scorpan grinned.

Twilight laughed happily.

"Gladly!"

Phew, it's been a while since I visited the OTP!

After Scorpan began to settle in a little after meeting with the royals when he returned, Twilight steadily started to seek him out- shyly at first, but then much more persistently as she inquired on his travels, and, eventually, her main reason to initiate conversation, Starswirl. Scorpan was a little taken aback at Twi's not-so-subtle eagerness about the wizard, but was glad to socialize with the newest princess of Equestria, and found her to be really good company. She was a welcome distraction from soon-to-be-revealed troubles he had come to share with the Equestrian royals, and he soon found himself spending most of his time with Twilight, who was an excellent conversation partner and who happily filled him in on news and history of the realm. They both really hit it off from the start and continued to have a close friendship as Scorpan stayed in Equestria, turning, of course, into an eventual romance. You guys know the result of that, heh.

Anyways, Twilight's infatuation with Scorpan kind of crept up on her a bit without her realizing. She was obviously interested in him from the start, given his association to Starswirl, but she hadn't actually planned on developing a crush on the big ol' lion-maned gargoyle at first, oh no sir. As she got closer to him and learned his story some more, she started to really feel for the guy- from having to betray his brother and be sentenced to banishment from his own kingdom, she really began to see Scorpan from a different perspective that eventually turned into a silly little crush she couldn't help but feel giddy about. Scorpan had proven to be an intelligent, curious, resourceful, and surprisingly witty and fun person to be around during their friendship and Twi just wound up falling head over hooves for him. I'll be touching more on the eventual progress of their relationship becoming romantic later on, but let's just say, as they spent more time together, Scorpan got a little warm and fuzzy around the purple pony princess, too, hehe.

In the meantime, enjoy these two dorks being nostalgic!
