Linnick and Lady were bickering as usual. As for Laori, the priestess of Zon Kuthon, she seemed to have something hilarious about everything, especially if it came out of the pain. Although they were both Elves, they had little in common. She sorely missed Kyonin and her aerial spires in the middle of the trees, she thought back to Camandirion and tears immediately flowed. She let them flow. How could she have gotten here and especially how could she have been drawn into such madness? Her grief and disavowal by her relatives had been decisive, but also her desire for redemption. Cestagalad. A seeker of light. That's what she had become. Erethwen knew that her quest would be long and that even if she were victorious in this epic, she would still have many challenges to overcome before reaching this goal. Generations of humans would have returned to dust, including her companions of today but also their children's children.
In Scarwall, they had confronted the creatures of darkness who were infesting the area in search of Serithtial, the sword that would allow them to defeat the essence of the blue dragon Kazavon and defeat those who sought to bring it back. In Korvosa, queen Ilosea bears one of the dragon's teeth on her crown and it was possible that other relics of Kazavon were sleeping under the palace. She and her accomplices were entrenched in the palace, leaving the city to its own resources. What were they up to? They would probably have to get inside to find out.
