They had already heard this just after the shipwreck of the Sea Wyvern. The monstrous lizard that came out of the jungle was of the same species as the monster that had chased them then. Except it was bigger, much bigger. Hundreds of gashes and scars from past battles testified that an extremely dangerous and hungry old male stood before their eyes.
  "Take cover! Behind the pits! " Liam screamed.
  " Spread out! "Completed Alysin.
  No one was told twice, and while the monster was still out of reach, Alysin shot arrow after arrow while Anariel and Kyalani used their most lethal magic, taking care to spare the Phanatons who were also wandering away from the two-legged nightmare . The latter seemed to take the measure of these new opponents, grabbed a Phanaton and tore it from its fangs, before rushing towards them while roaring. Kyalani flew away while her companions were redoubling their projectiles, magic or not. The beast barely slowed down.
