I love the starkness of the woman. I was going to ask about what you thought about the tentacles since they seem contradictory to the "not a sex object" statement, but I see people have already mentioned that
I'm just finishing up a semester where I studied the feminist revolution in art and censorship in art. So, this really resonates with what I've been absorbing.

To clear up the tentacle element, (since I don't feel I've cleared it up too well, lol) I wanted them to kind of be subtle (They really ARE subtle irl!) and I wanted her to kind of overpower them- Like she's more important than the well known sex-icons twisting around her. Because in this day and age, women are treated like they're on the same plane as pornographic images, and we're not. :/ I'm tired of men treating women like all we're about is a fantastic night in bed with 10 inch heels on, you know?

I definitely see what you're getting at, and I do think she dominates over the tentacles.
Right, it's sad that alot of women think they have to live up to that image and being provocative/sex slaves to men is the only way they'll get attention. I don't think there's anything wrong with owning your sexuality or even being a sexual icon, but only if it's something you actually enjoy and you're not doing it for the "wrong" reasons.

Most of my work is pin-ups and I think that expressing sexuality is just fine- but I HATE it when people treat others like their just a piece of meat. It's like... They actually BELIEVE that women have 9 inche spiked heels under those ballet flats and that beneath all those clothes is a flawless toned body with perfect breasts- Then when they find out that's NOT what they look like, they set themself up for disappointment and it's just.. ugh.. I hate people. lol
