Description
Spike is pretty much already in his G1 colors give or take some minor color tweaking but since his G3 colors are vastly different, I decided to see what he could have looked like with some G3 influence instead.
The PSD is below. Since some of you may not like the claws, I grouped them within a single folder so just disable or delete it to see G3 Spike without the claws. And switch a few colors and you'll also have normal Spike. =3

I prefer this color scheme to the one used now, for some reason.

I like G3 Spike. He's cool. Although i don't like to call him ''Spike The Dragon'' only because he's so different compared to the G4 version. But instead i like calling him ''Zipoe''. Only because he reminds me SO much of Zipoe from Dinatopea. I know i'm crazy XD

dispite the fact that i like FIM spikes personality better (tho G3 comes in a close second),i never realy cared much for his FIM disign,i alwase favored g3,for the color as well as the body shape.
i still think its funny that in 4 generations of worlds full of dragons with wings,spike has yet to have an incarnation with them.

He's the earth pony of the dragon race I guess. As much as I like his G3 colors, they'd be way too distracting if used in the current show. He'd likely draw the attention away from the other ponies. XD

It may sound strange to say this with so many multicolored ponies around, but as much as I like G3 Spike's colors I don't think they'd work well in the actual show. He'd draw too much attention away from the other characters.

He could be introduced as G4 Spike's older brother, who saved him as an egg and trusted him in Celestia's care.

G3 didn't really have that much appeal to it, maybe there wasn't any reason for Spike to be in the G3 movies if it was going to be some series of flicks that are plotless and not very exciting.... He was more memorable in the G1 TV series as much as he will be in FIM.

Always like that. It's hard to notice things like that when the subject is always in motion. But as far as I know, they kinda pop out. I'd have to compare it to how he appears in the other episodes to make sure.
