I know, right? She was the only one character I remembered! Probably cuz I played as her all the time (oh c'mon, when your younger than 6 in games all you wanna do is play as the same gender as yourself!)

LOL! With just one sentence you told so many things about yourself.
Foxy Roxy was from an era in which every fighting game had to have ONE fighteress, but mostly for the sake of males hormones than for the females need to a charecter to identify in.
Then came Dead Or Alive 2, with a whole bunch of fighteress, still for the same motivation. At least they were honest enough to admit it.
The fact is female fighters are still tied to the same model. And when a different one occasionally pops up, she is quickly forgotten by the most.
I wonder how many people remembers Otane from Power Instinct (she was LOL) or Rila from Breakers (she was hot).

Yeah.
Nowadays, guys play as girls, and girls play as guys. Cuz you know, that all of the guys are thinking "this chick is HAAAAWT, I'm gonna play as her!" And girls are always thinking "ok, if I play as a male character, then maybe my parents won't think I'm a lesbian?"
And that's EXACTLY why I don't play as Samus on Brawl.

Zero Suit Samus you mean. Cuz normal Samus is female, yes, but pretty hard to tell.
But if you feel awkaward to play as her, how would you feel to play Tatsunoko Versus Capcom as Doronjo?

It's not that I feel awkward. Hell, I just prefer Pikachu to her, so whenever I'm on Adventure Mode I purposely kill ZS-Samus just to use Pikachu instead...
