Description
Premise: in 1949, Jeff Mace (the third to wear the Captain America costume) was thinking of retiring. His sidekick Golden Girl (Betsy Ross) suggested he might do well to redesign the costume to make the role more his own, and they came up with the above design. Replace the chainmail shirt with a buff coat of synthetic silk layers for bulletproofing, and replace the winglets with padding wrapped around the sides for better protection. He wanted stars on the boots like his old Patriot costume had, but Betsy convinced him that it was a bad ideaDone for Project Rooftop's "Fighting Styles" contest. Deliberately flat 1970s style coloring and a Frank Robbins style.

That's a great costume design. Very much like something you'd see Robbins do in The Invaders series. Well done, sir.

It helps that it's not my first foray into Robbins-esque work, so I did a lot of the research legwork and style aping on an earlier project. Although it was my first try at doing his crazy eyes.
