Description
My submission for the current Project Rooftop contest going on.Changed up the gloves and boots from my original sketches, settled on a classic white chest star, and yep - I kept (a version of) the cape.

Oh, you might be right - I hadn't even considered that.
Thanks!

It would work well for an alternate reality Cap!

Diggin it, the gloves and boots reminds me of the Johnny Walkers (usa agent) version of the Super Patriot costume.

Thanks, Levi! Glad it meets the approval of the #1 Cap fan.
You know, I hadn't even thought to look at that costume for ideas. It was supposed to be more of a mash-up of Bucky's old 40's outfit and Steve's Nomad costume, but maybe I subconsciously remembered the Super Patriot design too.

From what I remember the SP had circles around the stars.

Yes, yes and even more yes! The slightly simplified costume has done this new Cap justice!
I think implementing the larger white stars across his costume was an extra choice. Its adds to the unity of the costume (repeating the star imagery and adding more white to a potentially blue/red dominant affair), all while adding some nice lines to the designs. I'm curious though, has the shield design remained the same, or has undergone an artistic revamp as well?
Also, i'm happy to see the cape implemented. My opinion has definitely been swayed in its favor Two thumbs up, and best of luck in the contest!

Thanks, man! Glad to hear the cape has won you over.
I played around with a couple different ideas for variant shields and couldn't decide on one, so just left it up to the judge's imagination. I figured they'll just assume it's the classic design.
The background idea I had in mind was this was Bucky after Steve (inevitably) returns to take up the mantle again, so I suppose he might have his own shield. But in the long run I guess it doesn't matter...
Thanks again for the critiques and the Favs! You've got a great eye for character design yourself - have you taken a shot at any of the P:R contests?

Your more than welcome my good man! I'm always happen to lend a creative eye and a constructive bit of criticism to a fellow superhero designer. Its a dog eat dog world out there and us superhero types gotta stick together!
And P:R contests, I do not believe that I am aware of those???

Ah, "P:R" would be Project: Rooftop , the superhero redesign fansite this was done for.
The site spun out of the superhero redesign memes (Batgirl, Superboy, etc.) that were floating around the 'net a few years back. They feature fan-made and alternate superhero costumes, articles about such, and host semi-regular contests to redesign specific characters.

This really works for me. The way you incorporated the cape makes it seem really natural to me.

Thanks! The cape was the one thing that I knew I wanted to include, mainly because I figured most people wouldn't think of it - I just had to find a way to make it work. May not get me in the winner's circle, but I hope it'll at least get my entry to stand out.
