"Batman" (Graphic Pen / 21cm x 29cm)This is my version of an image created by a DC comic artist called Marc Silvestai. I am interested in creating my own comic art and am exploring many different styles.

Very nice. Even working off of someone else's work, it can be vary difficult to get the right feel! I love comics and I too am also attempting to write my own although I wont be doing it in this style. im going much simpler even though I love this style so much.

It was a challenge doing this style and very enjoyable. What sort of comics are you into? I love Batman comics, especially the darker ones. I also like Spiderman and stuff like V for Vendetta and Watchman.

Im not big into Marvel or DC although I do like the Wolverine stories (his past and stuff) I like Fathom and Witchblade/Darkness ( I love the witchblade story and Michael turner rocks) Tank Girl, Abiding Perdition (one of the artists is here on DA : [link] ) Aphrodite IX, Squee and JTHM...I havent gotten too much into it and Im more toward the Trade Paperbacks since Im more concerned about the art and story then the collection. I tried getting into Manga but its just too damn hard to know the order of the panels. There all backwards...if the story cant flow I cant enjoy it.

I cant stand manga, too much! and yeah I like trade paper backs as well. Also you reminded me about Squee, amazing comic!!! Have you seen or read Everything Can Be Beaten? She is quite talented! I havent read that comic, but Im not really into the whole macabre horror genre. I just love Jhonen Vasquez's sense of humor and I love his style of art. I got into JTHM back in high school and then Squee and right before I graduated, Invader Zim came along and although I havent read the comics in a really long time, I still remember them fondy, especially squee and his best friend pepito.

This is by far the most inpressive of your work you have here. The lines and hatching are done very well. If your planning on getting into comic art you have to be able to do backgrounds and a background would make this piece perfect even a really simple one would add so much.
