Description A little homage to the old Cap'n, in one of the shows he worked, that was among my favourites when I was a kid. I didn't follow his career in WWE, as wrestling was not very popular here, so here's how I remember him.

Not particularly happy with this one. I still suck at portraits.

Lou Albano is himself.
Mario belongs to Nintendo.
The Super Mario Bros. Super Show! belongs to DiC Enterprises, Nintendo of America, Saban International (co-production), Sei Young Animation Co. Ltd. (co-production)

Yeah but for some reason everyone of our age group only remember the Mario show. And from what I read, he hated that.

Gotcha. I never really followed wrestling but it was literally part of pop culture during that point in the 80s thanks to people like him.

Swing your arms from side to side, come on everyone, its time, Do the Mario! Take one step, and then again...come on, lets go, all together now!

I'd be lying if I said I knew who this guy was outside of the Super Mario Brothers Super Show. Though I do remember that one.

Aham. A biografia dele diz que ele passou mais tempo como agente, que é como ele fez fama, com pelo menos outros 13 lutadores sob a tutela dele indo pro Hall da Fama.

A Tribute to the Captain I just wrote of the top of my head:

The Captain started off in a tag team called the The Scicilians in the 50's and 60's. They had a mafia gimmick which was very controversial [link]

After retiring he became a manager, a very hated manager who led Ivan Koloff to the World Title, ending Bruno Sammartino's 7 year reign as champion.

He also led Don Muraco, Greg Valentine, and others to Intercontinental Gold.

His biggest success as a manager was with tag teams, leading 15 tag teams to tag team championships.

He gained mainstream fame with his cameo in Cyndi lauper's music video Girls just want to have fun as the father.

Lou was instrumental in getting Cyndi Lauper involved with the WWE (WWF at the time) in 1984, laying the foundation for the first Wrestlemania.

He retired from managing to work on the Super Mario Super Show, trailblazing the dance known as "The Mario".

In 1993 or so he made a brief oomeback to managing, managing a new Samoan team with former client Afa of the Wild Samoans.

In 1996 he was inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame. As of 2009 there are 13 wrestlers in the Hall of Fame that Lou Albano managed.

In 1997 he made sporadic appearances.

In the late 90's early 2000s he co-wrote the book "The Idiots guide to Wrestling".

In the 2000s he kept busy on the independent scene, making appearances at legends events, autograph signings and the like.

In 2007 he made his last appearance on WWE TV, paying tribute to Vince McMahon after his storyline death.

Earlier this year his autobiography was released.

Rest in Peace Lou Albano.

I think it was everyone's favorite show... unless you were a Sega fan. But I was neutral, so Super Show and Sonic were my morning routines.

I was more a Nintendo fan, although I don't dislike Sonic. It's just... they tried many cartoon versions, and none was to my liking. Lou's Super Show was just right.
