Okay the Netherland went to the new land (America) and build a city (new-Amsterdam) the English liked the place and forced the Netherlands to trade it with Surinam. They chanced the name in New York. And that was the first part of America that became British.
I sometimes fantisize about what could have happened if the netherland didn't trade.. Would America be talking Dutch???

If Ned hadn't traded little America...uhm...
Well, there's a great possibility that he would be a Dutch speaking coutry (the biggest) and hence that probably the language of globalization would be Dutch!
