Description
[please download to view full size]This is my first "mega-panorama" made from 37 individual shots. It was a rather misty morning, but I managed to get quite clear shot.
This is a back road connecting the towns of Lightstreet and Buckhorn Pennsylvania. I like the way the shot came out. This is actually a curving 90 degree turn in the road exaggerated by the panorama. [link]
[edit 2009-09-28] This won 1st place in the Landscape division -and- Best in Category at the 2009 Bloomsburg Fair.
[edit 2011-01-01] I was asked to put together a tutorial on panoramic shots. Here is a link to it. [Tutorial ]

Thank you...I too think it has a look of an island of rock that someone paved a road around...with no entrance or exit.

Thanks! I was ever surprised at the outcome. I'm glad I didn't give up working with the levels in Photoshop. It leaned toward "warm", but I think managed a nice balanced shot.

Thanks It took some time to set up the shot and then to merge into the pano...but it was worth it.

Nice.
What program do you use for stitching?

Seriously? That's awesome, I use hugin too! [link]
Hey, maybe you can help me out with something. Is there a way I can get it to export an HDR as a file that can actually be opened by Gimp?

Oh, a bit beyond my experience. Never used Hugin for stitching HDR -and- I've never used Gimp.
Your mountains panorama is awesome...reminds me of when I was in southern California.

Oh, I THINK I have something figured out, but it's not exactly real HDR. (use exposure fusing with enfuse and it'll let you export it as a standard JPG or TIFF file)
That's actually where it was taken.
