...aaaaaaaaaand colored.agreed to create the Herald for Valera, so guess she shouldn't really be on Search anymore, hey? So now Valera has taken Tierra as her Chosen. Here's Whippet's take on Valera and Tierra [link] Hopefully I'll get a chance to sketch them again over Thanksgiving break.

It's a very large series by Mercedes Lackey, written in a series of (mostly) trilogies featuring different character generations. Search for Mercedes Lackey and Valdemar to see a list. I'd suggest reading any of the older trilogies first, just to get a feeling for the world.

You made the saddle look so good. It looks like it could be from one of the book covers, but I can't think of which one it would be. That's my least favorite part about drawing Companions, designing a proper saddle.

I think I looked at all the covers and then went crazy. I LOVE designing pretty intricate tack and armor, so that was fun for me. It's drawing the humans that frustrates me!

Yes. You know, I never can figure out the Herald uniform because it can't remain the same all through the ages (fashions changed dammit)
Hmmm. Can you draw clothes?
Because I can draw people (on horses too) and if you wanted we could work out a colab. I could draw some croquis (the official fashion word for human outlines that serve the purpose of paper dolls) and stuff.
Some of the Taleydras stuff would be fun (Larry Dixon should /not/ have been allowed to illustrate anything)

I've been working through M.Lackeys books at the moment - was looking for some fanart, this was the first I found - I love it! It's so beautiful...really captured the mischevious, ethereal air of the Companion (only with them could those two words go together).
My favourite book has to be Brightly Burning, though its sad...I love his companion! Keep up the stunning work!*favs*
