Contradiction

Contradictions are pretty simple: Each element has an element that contradicts it. Cultural as well as in battle, these elements don't go well together.
The most obvious example is probably Bion and Ahryma. Life and Death are complete opposites and can't co-exist. A being can't be dead and alive at the same time. The cultural aspects between followers of Life and Death are completely different as well. Followers of Bion strive to live their life the fulest and for as long as possible while followers of Ahryma accept their fate and when their time comes, they accept it without remorse.

Relation

Elements located right next to each other represent a Relation. Often, there are no completely sharp lines of where an element ends and another begins. For example does every flame emit light. Plants are filled with water and need to absorb it exist. During night, when it's dark, it's also getting colder,...

Symphony

A Symphony between two Elements can be seen on the Astral Chart, when skipping one element to the right and the left. These elements usually strengthen each other or give the strongest effect when combined. Ice is made of Water, so those two elements just go naturally together. Lightning is the strongest in a heavy storm. Metal becomes freely form able with enough heat.

Semi Contradiction

A Semi Contradiction is close to the regular contradiction. It is formed between an Element and the Symphonies of its Contradiction. These elements weaken each other and don't go well together even though in most cases it's not as strong and obvious as for the actual Contradiction... For example Fire: Water drowses flames while undeads are usually rather weak to Fire. Another example is Lightning: It can't spread through rock or earth but it paralyzes living beings easily.
