Description

A loud, chilling howl broke the silence, just after someone screamed, “Fire! Forest Fire!” Flinching, Alexandra and Francis immediately directed their gazes to Fungal Forest. Smoke was billowing out of the giant mushrooms, and they could see embers dancing in the darkness.

“What happened?” Alexandra wondered, eyes widening—even though only one could be seen and could see.

“Are there fire-types in Fungal Forest?” Francis asked, wringing his paws nervously.

“I thought they said it only had mushroom-based pokémon. Like shroomish and foongus and the like.”

“Some other pokémon must have started the fire then.”

Other Archivists also noticed the fire. Directly to Alexandra’s right were a meowth with a purple scarf around his waist, and an espurr with a yellow scarf, with one end tied to the meowth’s tail. The meowth was frowning at the forest a little nervously, and the espurr looked worried as well, not noticing that he was floating off of the ground. Behind Francis was a frowning sandile sitting on his haunches, front arms crossed. Clinging to his shoulder and arm was a worried-looking zubat with a red scarf around her neck.

“All right,” Kacey, a no-nonsense shiny lopunny said, catching everyone’s attention. “Those who aren’t with the Adventurers nor Merchants are with Dante and I. The Raiders have set the forest on fire. We’re not cutting around; we’re going through. Who all has Flash Fire and/or other ways of extinguishing fire?”

Several pokémon all called out “I do!” including Alexandra. “You all help put out fires in any you can.” Kacey said. “The rest of you, protect the wagons from rogue pokémon and/or Raiders, and keep the wagons going! But don’t go out of your way to attack Raiders; that’s the Adventurers’ jobs. Let’s go!"

So, there's really not much in this part. My part of the mission is going to be short (four or five parts, probably) because this is my first time doing something like this (drawing and writing a scene) so I figured it would be a good idea to start out small.

As you can also see, I'm not very good at shading or backgrounds. I want to get in some real practice for shading more so than background, so taking part in this group will probably help in that field. I'll also be kinda experimenting with anime-esque facial expressions (seeing as Pokemon was originally anime-style)
