I'm not sure where I got the idea, but for the last set of eyes I had thought the ratio of the iris to the size of the eyeball was 1:3, when it's actually closer to 1:2 (with the iris usually slightly smaller than half the diameter of the whole eye).

A bit of an over-correction here, but much better and expressive. Using a thicker pen also made things look much cleaner as opposed to the one I was using before (illustrated in the leftmost middle eye).

Feeling much better about eyes now. May have to tackle noses next.

I do like "cycling" through features and body part exercises like this. Shows off what I have learned as well as points how where I need to go. Incremental improvement for the long-term win!
