Description Marvelous Designer Guide for Daz Studio Users

Sewing is one of the most likely causes of problems with your MD garment creation, especially if you are not familiar with real life garment construction.
It is very easy to pair sewing lines incorrectly or get their orientation crossed.
This step by step guide takes you through sewing the sweater pattern created in Lesson 3, showing you what can go wrong and how to fix it.

The secret to more complex garment construction is to not try and sew everything at once, but build up your garment step by step.
For instance, with the flamenco dress I created and fitted the basic Bata de Cola, then created and sewed the ruffles one layer at a time, starting with the bottom layer, and saving the garment file at each stage.

This video series shows the various aspects of sewing. It’s the MD3 interface, but the same principles apply: www.marvelousdesigner.com/lear…

The download zip also contains the tutorial in .pdf format. There is slightly more detail in the .pdf than shown here, plus some additional information about fabric settings.

Other tutorials in the series can be found here: dylazuna.deviantart.com/galler…

Out of curiosity, the clothing can be put on a blender model and be rigged the same way as clothing, correct? Or is there anything else that needs to be added to make the clothing get rigged correctly?

Afraid I have no experience of blender, but I believe it is possible.
You may find helpful information in the MD forum if you search The Commons or the Show off and Learn threads for 'blender' articles.

Thanks for the link. ^^ My plan was to try to put some of the models i've made in blender into MD and try to create outfits that i could then use in Unreal engine 4. With the special clothing physics programs that it can run with, I thought it would be useful for making realistic clothing.

I'm still waiting for my new PC. ^^ But I'm improving at my modeling. Hopefully soon I'll be able to make some amazing characters!
