Description
Parapsicephalus purdoni is a Lower Jurassic pterosaur from Whitby, UK. A humerus is was recently referred to this species by O'Sullivan et al.
This species has been likened to Dorygnathus and Dimorphodon, two genera that are very different. Most recently, it has been found as the sister taxon to Monofenestrata by Vidovic and Martill. Interestingly, the similar aged Allkauren was also found as the sister taxon to monofenestrata in a separate study.
