Description
As the spacecraft re-enters the atmosphere of the planet, the friction between the atmosphere and the ship's hull renders the starship virtually incandescent. So I thought that 'Phoenix' would be a nice name for the ship, as landing succesfully is nearly a rebirth from its ashes. This image started as an experiment about lightning techniques and some fire FX. It was completely made from scratch using Photoshop CS.

I like the overall shape of the ship. The birdlike design really lends credibility to the title.

Thank you!
In fact, I decided the tile when I saw the completed picture . And yes, the flames and the starship shape gave me the idea of a Phoenix.

I added a lot of pitted, rusted, wired, plated and solar-cell-filled textures to the ship. I'm glad to hear that you appreciated those details And I think that those fire effects were the main element of the scene Thank you!
