Description
The Cyclops is the brain child of mining tycoon Erkan A Granier. Having grown tired of The ORE Consortiums long-standing monopoly in space excavation hardware, he decided to design a craft that would breach the gap between the second generation of mining barges and the large capacity bulk haulers. The first prototype was created to fit the needs of Graniers own industry, but a demand for mass production soon arose when other mid-size mining groups saw the benefit of lowered logistic expenses.

The name Cyclops was originally a nickname derived from the distinct look of the ore compression chamber, but as it grew in popularity the decision was made to adopt it as an official call sign.
