Description

It didn't take long to get to the main mountain where the Verndari mostly made their dens. The mountain pass was busier, as it was evening and everyone was meandering off to their dens (if they preferred the shelter). Felicity and Freki were chatting as they walked up the mountain, with Felicity trying to track Farkas down to introduce her to him. Usually he was awake a bit after sundown, with him trying to round up his pups, getting them to sleep, and some extra stuff. Felicity knew this since she stayed up later in the day.

"So, what's the leader's name?" Freki asked, "You keep mentioning him but you haven't given me his name"

"Oh, sorry. His name is Farkas, though usually he's referred to General Farkas." Felicity said. She then noticed the surprised expression on Freki's face, "You alright?"

"Oh, i'm fine." Freki said, "I think i may know him, but i wanna see him just to make sure~" Freki said teasingly. Felicity chuckled.

"Alright- Oh, I think i just saw him." Felicity said. Up on the ridge at the entrance to the old dens. He seemed to be getting some fresh air. Felicity jumped up onto the ridge, and Freki clambered her way up, clearly not as agile as the old cougar.

"General Farkas!" Felicity called, "I found a loner on the territory who is interested in joining! You have a moment to spare?"

"Of course," Farkas said, "Now, who is this-"

There was an awkward pause. Farkas' jaw dropped, and in that moment only the clicking of claws on the rocks nearby as wolves passed by. Freki gave a warm smile to Farkas, one she had always given him when he was young.

"mom?" Farkas finally sputtered. Freki giggled.

"Ah, I figured it was you when Felicity told me your name. Hello, my son." Freki said. Felicity just stood there dumbfounded.

"Holy shit, that's not what i expected from today." Felicity said.

"Felicity, watch your tongue. Just in case Zosia decided to hide somewhere and spy on us when she's supposed to be asleep." Farkas said, to which Felicity chuckled in response. Freki let out a gasp, meanwhile.

"Are you a father now?" Freki said. Farkas nodded.

"I am... but... we should focus on getting you settled in." Farkas said, "You wanted to join, correct?"

"Yeah. I can't care for myself completely on my own anymore... I'm getting old, and... your father passed away a few months ago..." Freki said, "I'm sorry for the downer..."

Farkas lowered his ears, closing his eyes and sighing. "I'm sorry, mom. I'm sure his last moments were filled with joy, being with you... lets get you settled in." He said, "we can talk all about it tomorrow morning... and you can meet my pups and my mate..."

"Thank you, Farkas." Freki said.

"Not a problem, mom. Welcome to the Verndari"

I also used that wolf model clip studio asset i've been using recently, this was actually the first piece where i played with it! I just... haven't finished this until now lol. Who would have thought a wolf model would also work super well for a cougar too, given the right angle?

I think my favourite part about this piece is just Jezebel. She just slep in the middle of the road and i love it. Cassandra is there to make sure nobody trips over her though lol. Sleepy gorl.
