Description The ivyris is a woody deciduous plant which fills the niche of trees along the southern coast of Montejoja. While it is generally wet most of the year, it does experience a small semi-dry season from late spring through summer. Having only grasses to compete with, the ivys quickly overtook the area, first dwelling in the shade under the thicker grass and then adapting to increased sunlight as they grew taller and taller, running rampant and forming extensive forests which are prime habitat for many animals. Ivyris have diversified into multiple species, having different leaf structures and some being more shrub/tree-like while others are tall pillars, growing higher than all others. Some growing up to the coastlines can handle more salty winds than others, and those at the inner fringes of the lowland savannas can grow in small, shrubby clumps in semi-humid climate. Some prefer more shade, others more light.
